How far apart should balusters be spaced on a stair rail to comform to the international building code?

What is the first type of carpet to use on unfinished stairs that have 2 balusters (spindles) per stair? I have a berber runner on the stairs now but the sides look awful. I am considering pile carpet but am afraid it will look strange next to the berber installed upstairs. I am at my wits end and dearth these stairs looking good with the least investment possible. The previous owners had wall to wall pile carpet by the way. I was succeeding to put a fancy carpet up the stairs that is a thick wool carpet like a rug but the carpet installers say it can't be done and still look honesty a possessions.

I entertain the idea I understand your question and what you need to do.....
if you are talking about a runner which leaves a few inches on each side of the steps you need to get the carpet cut and then have a carpet Theatre troupe bind the edges.....
lot of company's do that and makes it look 10000% better than leaving it bare........
ask around and that way the berber would m fine............

How do you use a Speed Square to determine the bevel measurement for deck stair handrails?

I bought premade 2x4 deck stair handrails where you can cut and pass over the balusters into place. I just need to figure out how to get the angle for the cut so I can attach the rails to the posts. The rails will be going in between the posts and not on the sides.

Pinpoint the "T" edge of the square on the tops of the balasters to determine the angle and read the number on the longest side of the triangle it will give you the accurate number in degrees. A bevel gauge (sliding T square) would help in marking your cuts, or you could just use a mitre saw

You can also "path" your balasters temporary in place then run a chaulk line from the top of the stairs to the bottom of the stairs along the banasters (where you want your rails go at your prefered slant) snap a chaulk line on the banasters and you could just cut them

Make Your Own Sofa Table

“Would you be interested in a devilish-blue leather sofa?” my friend asked. She planned to feature neutral earth tones in the place she was building, and navy wasn’t one of them. You bet I was interested! The color perfectly matched two La-Z-Boy recliners someone else had given me.

Untreated cedar decking boards and old stair balusters were the biggest materials used to make the sofa table. I already had the doweling, L-brackets, screws, wood glue, and red-mahogany splatter. The only extra expense was lighter stain for the tabletop.

After the new sofa arrived, I dragged my old beige hide-a-bed out to the garage and came preferred to collapse. While snuggled on the comfy new piece, a thought hit me. Wouldn’t a sofa table behind it be lovely? I envisioned candles, perchance a lamp, or a copy of The New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy lying casually on its side . . . .

I jumped up and searched the Internet for sofa-columnar list prices, but what I found made me want to collapse again. Two hundred dollars or more for four long legs with a board on top? Maybe pushing the beige go underground-a-bed around had made me delusional, but I began to wonder how hard it would be to construct my own.

I was still thinking about it when Jennifer’s family came for a stop. “Look what I brought you,” she said, unloading a bundle of old wooden stair balusters. Her husband had been about to throw them out, but she figured I could find a use for them. I stowed the do a moonlight flit in the rafters next to some spare lumber and turned my attention to the door between my family room and garage. A previous proprietress had cut a pet door into the dark brown, 1-3/4-inch-thick particleboard, but the front of the pet exit had since been lost. And with the hole cut in it, the ugly quarters door no longer met local fire codes, either.
