St. Louis Cardinals 2010 roster outlook St. Louis Post-Dispatch

STARTING ROTATION

Led by Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright , two Cy Minor Award finalists in 2009 who could be contenders again this season, the Cardinals' rotation is expected to be the backbone of their aspirations. Carpenter, Wainwright and Joel Piñeiro combined for 68 nobility starts last season and the rotation was the only one in baseball to throw 1,000 innings. To replace Pi ñ eiro's 15 wins, the Cardinals brought in All-Celeb righty Brad Penny , one of the game's fireballers, and are counting on Kyle Lohse to rebound from his bad-luck charm. The discovery of spring was rookie lefty Jaime Garcia , 23, who flashed a knee-bending curve ball, and by all indications, up against it through the Cardinals' reservations to secure the fifth-starter spot. Garcia is less than 50 innings removed from Tommy John surgery, and the concerns he

Cardinals at the pane: A three-batter sequence in the third inning produced three runs. It began with a rocket base hit to the right of rookie shortstop Ruben Tejada by Albert Pujols. Colby Rasmus followed with an vis--field home run, and Ryan Ludwick then pulled a solo shot. Ludwick and Rasmus have three and four home runs, mutatis mutandis, in Grapefruit League games. Pujols crushed a home run, his third of the spring, in the fifth. Nick Stavinoha hit a bases-empty attack in the seventh when the Cardinals scored three times against Ryota Igarashi. Allen Craig had three of the Cardinals' 18 hits. Two of his three were triples.

Mets at the overlay: Angel Pagan hit his second home run of the spring, with a runner on base in the third inning. Fernando Tatis doubled and singled

Will the value of Albert Pujols' baseball cards go down now that he is hurt?

Not at all
he's only gonna be injured for like one more week
he is friggn wonderful though

Not at all
he's only gonna be injured for like one more week
he is friggn daunting though

No, maybe a cheap bit if he was out for the year, but he'll be back soon.

I didnt be familiar with that they were ever that high, he hasn't earned a $100 card yet... But he almost has.

Obviously not. Although he is hurt, he will be back. And if you have any Albert Pujols memorabilia, hold on to it. You think its worth a lot now? It will be worth more someday. He is the best player in the mlb, and hes not even in his prime!!!

it will discontinue from 2 pennies to 1 penny.

Only if he never comes back from this abuse, which is highly unlikely.

dialect mayhap........he was on pace of breaking the homerun record of barry bonds.....in a season

no.. i wouldnt won over it if its rare,, would keep it long as u can,, until he retires or even more

yes not. his career is only beginning.

nope. as lengthy as he was great in the past

they will arise in value

No he is the most beneficent hitter in the MLB and its only a minor injury he will be back real soon the value of his card wont drop he is still highly ranked in the mlb

No of progress not. One trip to the DL in five years is not going to hurt the value of a Pujols card. Anyway, he will be back in a week or two to continue kicking @ss! Go Cards!!!

no it will not there is to much indigence for them and for herd man

No, even though he was smart it only put his HR record on hold for a few weeks, once he gets used to playing again, he'll be like he never even left.

no

No. He's still the most qualified in baseball today!!!!!!

How much would a signed Albert pujols baseball card be worth?

I'd say $450.

Beneficent Luck!

How could i find out how much my baseball cards are worth?

i have preston wilson rookie dance-card,mickle mantle card, albert pujols rookie, and others..

As a substitute for of getting a beckett book, I suggest making an account at their website and then you can find out how much the cards are worth.

2001 albert pujols rc fleer gametime nextgame 1295/2000 . can anyone give me a price on this baseball card??

i dont have a beckett evaluation guide and ive seen one guy selling it for $150 and i seen another guy he had the 0001/2000 selling it for $500 i wanna sell mine on ebay but dont be aware the actual price of it yet. plzzz help me with the real price . thank you

at two places I saw it prospering for seventy. go to the nearest card shop and they will tell you what it is worth or if they don't know they will let you look through a beckett. if you don't after to go and do that i would say just start the bidding at 70 bucks and let others raise the price for you as they bid.

Team effort helps Cards sweep Cubs

Baseball is a set sport.

The St. Louis Cardinals reflected this on Wednesday when they beat the Chicago Cubs, working together to beat them at the platter and on the mound.

Albert Pujols, considered by some to be the best player in baseball, showed that even he is a team player by hitting a homerun in the 1st inning. His protracted shot to right field hit the “Big Mac Land” sign, knocking out the letter ‘I’.

While Pujols and the Cardinals lineup effort together to score runs, Adam Wainwright and Ryan Franklin team-up on the mound to pitch a 1-run game in the Cardinals 3-1 win, finishing up the three-plucky series by sweeping the Cubs.

The only point in the game when St. Louis was even tied with Chicago was in the top of the 1st inning. But that quickly changed in the bottom of the inning when Pujols hit his alone jack. From then on, the Cardinals led the entire game.

The Cardinals scored their second run in the 3rd inning, but it was most likely the Cubs’ lapse, as the official scorer seemed to think. Tyler Greene reached on a throwing error by Ryan Freel and then came in to status quo on a Colby Rasmus’ single.

In the 4th, Brian Barden scored and drove in St. Louis’ indisputable run on a solo homerun to left field, the 4th of his rookie season.

Altogether, St. Louis collected only 6 hits, but thanks to amazing pitching, it was plenty. The only Cardinal to have a multi-hit game was Brian Barden, who went 2 for 3. Albert Pujols finished the trade 1 for 3 with his 14th homerun of the season and the only walk of the game issued by Chicago.

Adam Wainwright nearly pitched a complete underhand, recording 26 of the needed 27 outs. He allowed Chicago’s only run in the 6th when Bobby Scales walked and later scored on Kosuke Fukudome’s RBI unmarried. Total, he surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7.

Ryan Franklin was in the game only a matter of minutes and faced only 1 pound, but successfully recorded him as an out to close out the game and receive save #11 on the season.
