Baseball Card Price Guides?
Sep 22, 2006 by robotur2000 | Posted in Baseball
I use to assemble baseball cards as a child and picked up a Beckett price guide to see how much some of these cards are worth. I noticed that the value in the price guide is significantly more valuable than what you can as a matter of fact get for them say on eBay. For example, a $100 price card in Beckett may only get you $20 on ebay. Shouldnt the price guide make adjustments to consider the market.
when you transfer a card to a card store for example; you usually get 25% of the high price on the book, and that's if it is a top player membership card. Mantle and Ruth, Jordan might get you 30% if your lucky and the card is rare, or in high demand. Newer cards will win over in more money on eBay, it seems like the new age collector wants the newer card. Hopefully this will help you make adjustments. Oh, here is some brace look Chien-Ming Wang 2003 bowman's best auto in the beckett and or eBay, in most instances now he is selling coupled book!! If a player died recently, gets into trouble, also they all of a sudden will usually double as well. ie; Kirby Puckett!!

Are there any free online price guides for baseball cards?
May 03, 2006 by J_dogg_dx | Posted in Baseball
if you're unsatisfying to see what something will actually sell for, look on ebay. look at stuff that's already sold and you can see what you should be able to get for whatever you have.

Can anyone tell me if there's a free baseball card price guide online somewhere?
May 21, 2007 by drummerwhit06 | Posted in Baseball
My kindred has a bunch of old baseball cards and we're trying to see how much they're worth.
There aren't any or the Beckett armoury pricing guide would be out of business.
The best thing you can do is go to your local hobby deal and they will let you look them up for free there.

Top 7 Depressingly Cheap Baseball Cards
The greatest day of the month as an 11-year old was coming cuttingly to a new Beckett Baseball Card Monthly in your mailbox. Who was on the cover? What went up? What went down? Who’s the Hottest and Coldest jock? What lies will readers tell in Autograph Experiences? The worst lie, though, was not ever being told that “current up” really means nothing, and what a card is “worth” was quite different than what was in the Beckett. Never is that more obvious than if you cruise E Bay now and see how much your favorite “expensive” cards go for. It’s unbelievably depressing.
7. Ken Griffey Jr. 1989 Characters upper class Deck
This one used to “book” (love that baseball card price guide slang) for $100, and you can find a new one for under ten bucks. It’s in point of fact a bit refreshing that this one still goes for even that, many cards are way more depressing to check as you will see. There is still an aura around the Griffey card, which is probably why it still costs something: most underappreciated performer of this generation; the first “high-end” set (which ended up making cards not as fun anymore); the first card of the first “high-end” set; at long last a super-hyped rookie who actually panned out. It may be the most famous card of the peak of collecting that didn’t require curse words on a bat.
6. 1991 Topps Stadium Club
If 1989 Upper Deck was the first “high-end” set, Topps Circus Club was the first “ungodly high-end” set. They started out at $4 per pack for 12 cards, and once their stylishness grew, they sometimes cost $8 or even higher. I remember being at a card show where a guy was selling them at $4 during its peak, and kids were lined up to buy them like guys waiting for Neon Beaudeau in Dispirited Chips. It was a really cool set—each player’s Topps rookie card was shown on the back, Nolan Ryan and Ozzie Smith were in tuxes, and Direct Thomas had the most sought-after card. You can now buy the entire set on E Bay for an opening bid of…five dollars. Good God. That’s a lot of lawns mowed for nothing.

Based on the numbers, it looks like you have 1977-78 Topps basketball cards. Beckett's annual basketball funny man destined price guide lists Abdul-Jabbar at $7.50-$15. Frazier books at $2.50 and Monroe at $1.50. Contingency is always the key.
