why do you have to be careful about the location of the structural girders and beams in a building when..?

why do you have to be cautious about the location of the structural girders and beams in a building when making magnetic measurements?
does the magnetic force make the beams weaker? thats my only surmise.
"does the inviting force make the beams weaker?"
no way!!! wow, what a strange idea.
The steel beams change the magnetic lines of pressure so measurements of magnetic fields will change from what they would be if the beams were not there.

what is the difference (if anything) between an I-beam and a girder?
Feb 07, 8497 by Andrew | Posted in Engineering
I can't reckon it out. What's a girder and what's an i-beam? Please include links to pictures of both. Thanks
the administration conditions "I-beam" was coined because the cross section of the beam looks like the letter "I". However, in the engineering community, these beams are called encyclopaedic flange beams, or S beams. The wide flange beams have a wider flange than do the S beams.
The term "girder" only means a pencil which supports other beams which frame into the girder.
You can go to aisc.org and look at what is available in the steel book.

When do you use bolted / welded structural joints?
Feb 07, 8511 by contented_bored | Posted in Engineering
In pre-eminent and secondary girders, beams and braces, I have encountered both welded and bolted type joints, on gusset plates. What type of bearing do both type of joints are used?
all types of metal girders move.... with that in disregard some more than others ...... say you where supporting . a large building
you could . weld the beams together, but if they building
suddenly moved the weld could die out casue it to crash down
. o nthe second beam you can bolt a beam knowing that it maybe only holding up a young amount of weight . and the bolt would support it even if it did move a little , there would not be a problem ....... soem time bolts are used, as a back up .
braces are a secondardy act...... and only need bolts to help supporting weight or slight movement
beams carry the main charge

Why are I-beams, a form of girder, allowed?
Jul 24, 2008 by ManWell KMA | Posted in Religion & Spirituality
They are one of the more hands-on forms of girder. Not much rotational strength but there usually wouldn't be a use for rotational strength anyway.
