Unexpensive Faux Tin Ceiling tiles?
I'm looking to elect my family room with Copper look ceiling tiles (who can afford real copper anyways?!). Any ideas what other stuff can we try ?

Neutral wanted to show you one of our last summer's projects. We had the same target- to make the kitchen ceilings to look as close to valid Copper as possible. We ended up installing PVC faux tin tiles. From my personal experience I can tell you that this is as close to the real Copper as it could be. And also over that the installation is much simpler and faster than real tin - no preparation work required - just paste some glue and shrink from them up. So you save twice - on materials and on labour , but at the end you have fantastic ceilings.

Anaglyptic wallpaper, painted with metallic copper make whoopee. HUGE JOB!
Go on a bender the ceiling in a metallic paint. We use Modern Masters Metallic Paint collection. They do have a copper color, which is beautiful. We have actually painted a ceiling in this color and it's Excellent. The walls were a light green venetian plaster.
Roll the paint on, do not brush it, for it will have brush marks in it.

I wallpapered the ceiling in our bedroom (by myself!) with faux daub paintable wallpaper from Home Depot, and now I'm also eager to do a faux tin ceiling in the dining room. I've looked at Anaglypta paintable wallpaper, but I'm favouritism more toward the new vinyl wallpapers ("Petite Punched Tin Ceiling Effect Raised Texture Metallic Wallcovering") that chance upon in various metallic colors and look a lot like the real thing. This would save me a lot of time painting and glazing to get the set to rights effect. Paintable wallpaper can look monochrome and flat unless you put some extra work into it. How do you remove paint from tin ceiling tiles?
Boost! I need ideas for removing paint from antique tin ceiling tiles. We are renovating a 1920's cottage, and have enchanted the tiles down to strip the paint.
The first layer seems to be a latex paint and the second layer is lead-based. We scarcity to strip them down, prime and repaint them a copper color.
Well, the crush and least expensive and least time costly way to do it is as follows:
Use oven cleaner. Apply a thin layer of the oven cleaner to the tin tiles and use a slight feel embarrassed putty knife to remove peeling and loosened pieces. Apply a second layer of the oven cleaner using a hard bristled brush to get the oven cleaner into the cracks and crevices. Apply as many layers as you need. You'll be capable to just wipe away the residu with a damp rag. However, you should wait about (but no more!) than 2 hours for the oven cleaner to work rightly. Don't wait longer so it doesn't damage your tin tiles.
Protect the surface of the floor with a in general sheet of plastic, since oven cleaner can harm your floors. It's also important to protect your eyes with watchful goggles and your hands with rubber gloves.
Also, though it isn't part of your question, when you prime your tin tiles, make sure you use an oil-based primer to keep having your tiles rust from water-based primer. You can then paint latex paint on top of the oil-based primer without a puzzler.
This is how I did my tin tiles and those of 3 clients.

In stalling a faux tin ceiling in our kitchen....?
It is milk-white with the raise details to make it look like an old tin ceiling. Im wondering if there is a web site or if anyone has ideas on if if were to paint it to bring out the detail or what color i should go on a spree it to look like metal or tin. I have seen a way to make it look like metal using 2 colors and a block paper brush but not sure what colors to use or if there is one solid color i can use. my kitchen is a tuscan gold venetion. i do like the copper look but not positive what to get or do any suggestions thank you

Modern Masters has a Metallic paint collection in 40 colors.
It's water based tint and I suggest spraying it on for best results but it can be rolled on as well. Do NOT brush it on, you will have brush marks.
Search their website for a salesman near you and to view all of their colors. Be sure and pick one that is opaque and not translucent for the best coverage.
I want tin ceiling tile for my hall, but they are so expensive for a 2.14 sq ft is 7 to almost 8 dollars?
Does anyone conscious a good site where I could get them for 1.00 sq ft...also I found some white ones at loans with a pattern on them...would it be okay to go over them with copper paint??

Have you looked into wallpaper that you put up and then go out on the town?
You can then antique it (paint it) and make it look like it's real.
