Where do baseball card shops and dealers get their card supply?

I've been looking everywhere to find where baseball card shops and card suppliers get their cases of sideline boxes, etc for their inventory, but I can't seem to find the source. Like any other product I'd assume they buy it in bulk from a factory or wholesaler, but I don't skilled in the specifics.

baseball card companies are almost even leashed.. I have been running an online store for years and to get any of the card companies to sell to you is next to impossible unless you are a brick and mortar amass with a front... Most will even make you prove it... There are other places to get after market card but with the on set of the insert.. It is a protected process.. Botom area is they come directly from companies like Upperdeck...

The new ones they buy from suppliers. They buy employed from individuals, auctions, estates, and special suppliers that deal in them.

Garacious is ethical, but they also buy alot of them on ebay. In fact when I used to do a lot of collecting baseball cards I had been going to some stores and one of them told me that... and I tried buying a 1000 lot card pack on ebay and that was great.

Baseball card collection?

Is it me or does it seem like the merchandise for baseball cards, even old ones, has depreciated (gone down in value)? I have a few rookie Dave Winfield. Years ago, I had once checked the value and it was usefulness $100. Now, EBAY says it is $8-12. Now, I know they are NOT making more of these cards, so is it just that EBAY and internet has increased the contribute of these cards to the market. Same with my autographed baseballs of Pete Rose, Steve Carolton, Johnny Bench, Nolan Ryan and many others. I have every Topps cards from 1984 to 1995 as well. I merely don't see the "sold my baseball card collection to put kid through college" stories anymore. Or am I totally missing something? I feeling part of the autograph stuff is you need certificate of authenticity due to so many scams. I guess for me I handed them the ball to sign so its solely memories with no value on the marketplace. But my cards???

I would say that there are a few factors

1) The ubber radio show of cards every year with the limited items, the inserts, the swatches, etc. No one seems interested in simply a card (or set) anymore unless it has bells and whistles. I saw "rookie cards" of hockey entertainer Sidney Crosby go for $120 and he hadn't even stepped on the ice and the cards were available right then and there for purchase.

2) the standing of cards have gone up, focussing on the picture and holograms and stock quality, causing those great topps cards to be seen as insignificant

3) fewer shops and more on-line stores. There are a number of ebay fueled stores that scoop up all the product and resell it at sometimes extortionate rates.

4) grading. It's gotten to a point where someone is judging worth by it's grade and not how 'rare' it is. Since the older cards once in a blue moon grade as high as new ones, it will drive the price down.

Society is in the midst of the self-gratification phase and it's often not most luxurious that some people have lots, it's also equally important (to them) that others have less.

What is the best alex rodriguez rookie baseball card to invest in in psa 10. What is the lowest pop in psa 10?

I am irritating to teach my boys how to manage investments and this is what they are interested in now. manage the eb and flow of supply and demand etc.

It's as a matter of fact hard to say ... it depends on your idea of "best". Best investment? Rarest? Most ordinary?

Currently, there is VERY rare PSA 10 94 Upper Deck Collector's Choice Gold Signature ARod on Ebay. There are only 4 graded as gem small fortune (9.5) by BGS, which is a better grader than PSA. It is a parallel card, so it isn't as popular as some others. Same goes for like Score or Sportflic's "Artist Evidence" cards. They are rare, but not as popular as base cards/inserts.

The best as far as value/popularity/insufficiency overall would probably be the 1994 Score Call Up insert. In a high grade, it's pretty expensive and it sells very well graded or not! There is an ungraded on Ebay currently over $100 with considerable graded ones can fetch over $1000.

The SP rookie is probably the most popular, but isn't at all the best value! There are A BUNCH of towering graded examples of this card, which hurts its value.

Unknown Baseball Card Value?

I went to a Twins Baseball devices back in 2002 and at the door they handed out a limited supply of Torii Hunter 2002 Gold Glove cards That are 24 Karate gold. Is there a worth on the cards currently?

Use a search appliance: Google, Yahoo, any of them.... and just plug in "Torii Hunter cards"...If there is a "quotation on them" it'll come up or at the very least there will be links. If you get really stuck go to your local library and ask for information at the "Tidings Desk."
