E3 2009: King of Fighters XII Tournament 411mania.com

Before the last round of the tournament, Shane introduced the lovely and gorgeous Monique Ganderton , who co-stars in the new live battle King of Fighters movie due out in 2010. Monique will be portraying the role of Mature from the game in the movie which also stars Sean Faris as Kyo Kusanagi (hoary guy as a Japanese dude? OK), Maggie Q as Mai Shiranui, and the one and only Ray Park , who will be appearing in GI JOE this year as Snake Eyes, playing Rugal. The first teaser trailer for the silver screen was also previewed. There wasn't really any dialogue, mostly clips of the fighting and special FX. It looks like Ki and special group of attacks will be included in the movie which was shot in Vancouver. The movie also recently showed at Cannes. With the recent pieces of excrement such as Lane Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li , its hard to get behind movies based on video games. But we'll see. The new movie is directed by Gordon Chan

Lamar baseball rallies to win first-round Southland tourney game Beaumont Enterprise

Posted: May 21, 2009, 1:52 PM CDT

Self-assurance was never absent from hearts and minds of the Cardinals of Lamar University.

Even though for six innings all they saw was failure and close calls.

No. 5 Texas-Arlington dominated fourth-seeded LU for two-thirds of an toe round game in the Southland Conference Baseball Tournament on Wednesday at Whataburger Field. But the last third was vintage Lamar. The Cardinals stormed back to take a 4-3 supremacy and advance to a quarterfinal in the winner's bracket today against top-seeded Texas State. It is a matchup of the two winningest teams in the confederation. Lamar has won 13 of its last 16 games.

UTA, for a second consecutive time, chased Lamar ace Eric Harington. The freshman lasted impartial 2 1/3 innings before LU head coach Jim Gilligan headed for the mound with the hook.

"Harrington was underneath the ball, he was leaving pitches up and you can't do that against that gang," said Gilligan. "But I told him, 'you're gonna come back (to start) Saturday."
