50 years ago: Tread 18 1960 Royal wedding honour
ROYALTY, presidents, politicians, the highest in the land, and abroad, who will be guests at the merging of Princess Margaret and Mr Anthony Armstrong-Jones on May 6, will all be receiving examples of script penned, indubitably, in a Fulham house.
Mr Wilfred Lionel Edwards, of Racton Road, adept in the art of calligraphy, is likely to be chosen to inscribe the originals for twin of the invitations to the Royal wedding ceremony and breakfast and to the parties in connection with the wedding.
Mr Edwards is a craftsman in the art of copper-panel handwriting.
He was chosen to inscribe the wedding invitations to Buckingham Palace for the wedding of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947.
His labour is reproduced from his original writing and the invitation cards, each embossed with the Royal Coat of Arms in gold, are among the finest examples of the art of calligraphy.
A former polished servant, Mr Edwards is constantly in demand for his copper-plate writing. He has worked for various government departments and for universities for the theme of diplomas.

IPL is back in India with a entertainer of tie-ups leading up to its third instalment. Snapshots of the action so far James Cameron would've certainly experienced deja-vu if he were witness to the orifice ceremony of IPL 3, what with all the laser lighting, electronic sound reproductions and mesmerising fireworks looking reminiscent of Avatar. The provinces's most eagerly-awaited sporting tournament got underway on a clear Friday evening in Navi Mumbai's D Y Patil Coliseum. As evening drew near, offices and roads grew empty as fans trooped to watch the opening form and the first match. The first day of the IPL 2010 had all the facets of a high-octane occasion, except for the die-hard fanatics of Deccan Chargers, who forgotten the game to Kolkata Knight Riders in a nail-biting finish.
Legendary singer Lionel Richie and UB40's Ali Campbell and Bjorn Again kept up the spirits of the assembled fans and the millions who were watching the obsequies on television as well as on YouTube for the
