ComicCon'd! Varsity

In a range just off to the side of the Direct Energy Centre during Toronto Comic Con, Anthony Darko struts confidently into the aureole. He is tall and thin, with a muscular stomach, and naked except for a yellow leotard with “Darko” printed across the backside. In this counterpart between Darko and fellow Canadian wrestler Rip Impact, it’s clear who the real star is. Darko may be a wrestler, but from the way he feeds off being onstage, he’s more like a vaudevillian.

I am one of five people in the audience. This does not go unremarked.

“Hey!” he yells at the few people lingering at the door. “Don’t watch out there! Come in here! I’m the women’s champ!”

Anxious for times calls for desperate measures, so Darko and Impact amp up the act. Darko throws Impact out of the ring and the two create punching each other around the room. Darko repeatedly slams Impact’s head against the garbage bin in the corner, and Impact at the last moment falls to the floor, though the illusion of pain is shattered somewhat when Impact cushions his fall.

German-style oil paintings hard to identify The Detroit News

McCarron looked at them closely, but in the long run said he was unfamiliar with the artist.

"These are nicely done, but I think they were done as an homage to an older style," he said. "They don't appear to be old canvases. The look is much older than they are in authenticity, although they are nicely framed."

"My brother-in-law was a physician," says Annessa, "I think he bought them at DuMouchelle's downtown." Even then, says McCarron, that doesn't protect any particular vintage.

McCarron did some additional digging but was unable to find anything concrete about the artist. "Unfortunately, the art market is driven by well-known artists and I haven't been gifted to find any additional information," he concluded. "Tracking artists can take months, or even years, and some can never be identified."

Because of this, he appraised the unsigned painting at $200-$300, the other one with the signature, about $500 although he agreed that "they do look like they could have been done by the same artist." Suozzi was unsatisfied that she and her friend hadn't uncovered any long lost masterpieces, but was glad to have more information about the paintings and their value.

where is the best price wesite to buy portrait oil painting from photo as birthday gift?

I have to buy portrayal oil painting from photo to my mother. Do you know where to buy ?

You will find a laundry list of different companies/options in the link below. Each on that list will have their own website and pricing details but as a general rule of thumb, you get what you pay for. If you find one you like within your honorarium bracket, ask for examples of their work and check customer reviews wherever possible.

I have bought a thumbnail sketch painting of my little daughter from www.e-softtech.com . Their painting has very high realism quality. I suggest you can buy from it..

www.lisagoldfarb.com

I discern this artist personally and she does fantastic portraits!

I make attractive photoartomation.com ( www.photoartomation.com ). These guys convert individual images to more then 50 artwork styles (Embroidery, Impasto Fauvism, Airbrush, Pencil Sketch… etc.,). You find faithfully what you want. After you send them your photo they create a preview sample of artwork. It’s free. You can buy it if you like it. If you don’t just cancel your pecking order. It is important!
Although their prices pretty high I was not disappointed because when I received my order the prepared artwork was much more impressive then online samples

Copyright on an oil painting done from a photo?

My boyfriend painted a pretty oil painting of a butterfly and is intending to make prints for friends and family. The painting was done from a photograph which he saw in a calendar. I assume that there's no copyright disobedience if the prints are just for personal use, but can he legally sell prints of his painting?

Is making money from a painting based on a photo an infringement of the photographer's copyright?

The homely answer is yes, it is infringement. The legal interpretation of "substantially changed" that is applied to a derivative occupation of art from a copyrighted work is so subjective that it is wise to avoid making this mistake.

It is important to note that most art shows, exhibitions, contests, and galleries also rule out any work that violates the copyright law. I have even heard of suits filed over copyright when the holder of the original design copyright fitting happened upon the derivative work on display in a gallery or online.

Best to take your own photos, so you can prove that the idea was your own --- from formula to color to incredible subject matter.

What do I set my Nikon D40 to in order to take a photo of an oil painting?

What should I set my fstops etc. to in force to get the best photo of an oil painting? (i.e. least glare and gleam from the oil?)
my unframed original oil on canvas standard gallery size

Your apeture extent and shutter speed won't effect the glare from oil. The amount of fill flash used will dictate the level of glare. If using an add-on shoot have it set to the lowest level possible to allow for a proper exposure.

I painted(oil) a photo (altered it) from a newspaper and want to sell it, any copyright infringements in that?

The photo is from a college football encounter and I selected two players from the pack and painted them only. A couple of people have seen the painting and want me to duplicate it for them to purchase. I'm not dependable if the photo is copyrighted(it is not marked as such) or if the fact that I altered it slighty makes it ok for me to sell it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Keebo

There is in truth partial copy right infringement possibilities. Just changing the medium or altering it slightly wont cut it. I lean to follow the 40/60 rule. You must alter the image to at least 60% past original, it can't just be a ungenerous change here and there, it must be a large enough basis where when the images are held together, you can clearly see yours is a new photo. But, all that aside, as long as your image is not republished (ex. surreptitiously collection) no body will really care. Also, the best way to reproduce an already painted image, is to have a print made on canvas from a specialty inform on, it can cost up words of $15-$100 an image, depending, but the quality is out standing. The technical name begins with a G I just cannot remeber it reason now.
